Spiritual Narcissists ” The Masked Healers”
I have had personal experiences with both a Malignant Narcissist and a Female Narcissist. Both of these experiences were horrible and traumatic. It took a long time to understand who they were and how to get over them.
Narcissists are all tough, malignant narcissists are evil, and female narcissists are not as common as male narcissists due to differences in how men and women are seen in our society. However, research has shown that Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is more prevalent in men than women, with 7.7% of the male population being diagnosed compared to 4.8% of the female population.
But in all variations of narcissism, there is an inflated sense of “self”. Narcissists are known for:
- Having a strong sense of entitlement
- Lacking empathy for others
- Feeling superior to other people
- Being manipulative to get what they want
- lying consistently
- being controlling
Can a narcissist change? The answer to this is no.
Spiritual narcissists are a different kettle of fish and it’s not always easy to spot one. Their mask of spirituality makes us believe that they couldn’t possibly be narcissistic. How could someone be so ” spiritual” and also be narcissistic?
But the very thing they work to move past, the ego, is what takes control of them and causes a sense of entitlement or spiritual arrogance toward others.
Spiritual narcissists hit us hard. They devastate your beliefs, life, and soul and they do it under the most manipulative cover of healing you.
It’s beyond devastating. How do they do it and How can we stop it?
First, let’s talk about what a Spiritual Narcissist is.
Who Are Spiritual Narcissists?
Quite simply, this is where a person, unconsciously, uses their spirituality to boost their ego.
And when it becomes spiritual narcissism, it’s because the person has started identifying solely as a “spiritual person”. Their spirituality is what they form their identity around.
They can be religious ministers or those who have scripture knowledge, through to Eastern and personal development leaders along with an endless assortment of spiritual healers and those who call themselves lightworkers. They can be the ones who read spiritual books or even right a spiritual book and then declare to you that they are spiritual and this is how you need to live your life.
This could be any impactful person in your life, whether they are connected to a church or healing profession or not.
How Do Spiritual Narcissists Infiltrate Themselves Into Our World?
We might have come across known spiritual narcissists personally and collectively but you might not even have known it. Narcissists are covert and treacherous as they wear a mask appearing to be who they are not. Spiritual narcissists do not present themselves as who they truly are. It is an illusion and a lie.
What is so dangerous and horrifying about spiritual narcissists is that they exploit positions of trust. If we are not yet aware that the only true authority to how we connect and relate to people is our Higher Self. be fooled and easily believe that someone else has authority over our life and soul, even when our inner wisdom doesn’t agree. Sadly, we can justify these feelings away easily by believing these spiritual narcissists. We hand over our power and put our souls in their hands.
Spiritual narcissists exploit people. They can appear to be our friends, our guides, and the person who will heal us. However, like any source outside of ourselves that is a substitute for our wholeness, a false source.
As all narcissists do, they appeal to a void within us and promise to be the person to fill it, becoming the false source.
False sources come in two versions:
1) Abusive people that we get hooked on for our supposed ascension, yet they bring about our destruction instead or,
2) Short-term relief from a problem or issue that does not last
Who Is Connected to the Prime Creator and Who Is Not?
So we may trust spiritual narcissists easily, handing our power to them because they have claimed to be connected to a higher power and therefore immediately seem believable. We might want to trust them in the hope they can heal us from our pain, whatever that might be for us, and we feel they are highly evolved people.
Beware of anyone telling you that they are the person who will heal you back to your wholeness. They can’t and only you can do that for yourself. Someone can help you find a way to heal yourself and even show you the way or be the facilitator for the Prime Creator to heal them, but they can’t actually heal you or anyone. A true spiritual healer will take you deep within yourself for you to connect to your ‘Higher Self’ and the Prime Creator rather than getting you to follow them.
If someone is cultivating a dependency with you, you need to be extremely wary of their motives. They will take your resources, whether that is your time, body, money, energy, or life force as they are creating this collaboration.
Someone who has a connection with Prime Creator will encourage you to become your own healer and that you do not need them and they wish that for you. They will want you to have a close relationship between you and the Prime Creator because they know that you are a spark of the Prime Creator itself and can experience and know this for yourself. They know that God is within them and you as well as they know your ascension lies in you knowing ‘Who You Really Are’, a part of the Prime Creator.
If someone who claims to be spiritual is not helping you come to this place of truth, power, and peace, then narcissist or not, this is creating powerlessness and dependency within you.
What Spiritual Narcissists Tell Us
All narcissists, without exception, are teaching us a difficult, painful yet powerful message about the importance of being connected to the Divine Prime Creator. The true Source of power and wholeness comes through living life directly through the Divine Prime Creator where we know who we are and stop handing away our values, truth, power, and authority to outside influences.
It is only when we believe we are not whole and are damaged and defective that we go against our inner guidance, which is warning us. If we ignore the warning we hand over our power, second guess ourselves and get sucked into the web of narcissists.
The Solution
What is required is a conscious shift away from the programming of being told we are defective and we need to earn our way back to God.
We could have been brought up by parents who also believed they were defective, and damaged, and had to earn love and acceptance. This lie is often generational and is a chronic human condition.
Such programmed conditioning, connected with a world flooded with an overload of toxic trauma and separation from the Prime Creator, has meant that the toxic environment for spiritual narcissists has been able to thrive. We only have to look around to see narcissists are everywhere in our world, governments, education systems, health care ” professionals” and of course, if we look to the spiritual world we can see many of them who are there to make money and find fame and recognition instead of truly helping another to find their way to ascension and health.
What Can We Do?
Quite simply, connect with the God within you and be your own spiritual healer. It does not mean you can find true healers who want to help you heal and even have a modality for you to use to do this. But the difference is they are not claiming to cure you or heal you. God is the true healer and they connect with the Prime Creator to help you to heal yourself. When you do this you will evolve into a force of love, truth, and knowledge that exceeds anything you have ever known before.
You will no longer unconsciously be drawn into toxic relationships of untrustworthiness, dependency, and narcissistic abuse, and you will encourage others to be free, honest, and connected with the Prime Creator as well.
You will realize that these people can never heal you and only you can heal yourself with the Prime Creator.
